Jim Thompson has made a lifelong commitment to the Banking and Mortgage Lending Industry as a pioneer, entrepreneur, leader, innovator, and an
educator/trainer for more than 30 years.  He has been involved in the delivery of financial services to individuals and companies since 1970. 

Jim began his career as a commercial banker with two large regional banks.  He   later had the opportunity to organize and manage, as President and CEO, two community banks in Statesville, NC and in Richmond, VA.  He is also responsible for the formation and management of two mortgage companies, Community Mortgage, which operated as the mortgage loan subsidiary of four community banks in Northwestern NC and Premier Mortgage Services, a mortgage brokerage operation which he has owned and operated since 1999.  Jim is also a licensed real estate Broker and owns Premier Real Estate Services.

Jim brings a lifetime of successful accomplishments and experience to his teaching and welcomes the opportunity to share his knowledge and experiences with students in all phases of their careers.  He has trained students at Central Piedmont Community College, provided corporate training as well as teaching for private entities. 

A native of Statesville, NC, Thompson received B.S. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a graduate of the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, La.
